The Lemon Meringue Pie

.

For those who have kept track of this couple

I will remind you of what happened before

They got into a bit of a muddle

And buried a chap from next door.

Now Hilda is close to her birthday

Harrys fulfilling her every wish

Arranging an al fresco buffet

And Hilda's favourite dish.

They had planned to head over to Blackpool

To eat chips, by the pier, if it’s dry

And later that day is the jewel!

They would eat Hilda's Lemon Meringue Pie.

That morning they woke up quite happy

Harry presented his wife a small gift

But then everything turned very crappy

And started a family rift

The couple’s children arrived at the door

Bringing gifts of sweet smiles and goodwill

Hilda, knew that their day had been done for

Given that she had had plans to fulfil.

She could see Harrys heart had been broken

The day was just going downhill

Not a word between them was spoken

He had a face that could certainly kill.

Not wanting another disruption,

Because the garden looked beautiful now,

She accepted this terrible commotion

And would get through it she decided, somehow

The day went ever so quickly

Harry enjoyed it, never the less

By the evening they were exceptionally tiddly

So they ignored the terrible mess.

They prepared to watch some telly

Whilst eating Hilda’s favourite dessert

There was a rumbling inside her belly

But there was no pie! By gum she felt hurt

“My pie” cried our dear Hilda

This bit was the last bloomin straw

The whole day had been ruined for her,

This theft is just flouting the law

They had not invite those guests

And someone has just got to pay

Harry could see Hilda was stressed

So he rang them and she heard him say

“You came to our house without warning

And made my poor Hilda cry

It was definitely there this morning

Who ate Hilda’s Lemon Meringue Pie”

He put the phone down in a temper

And turned to his wife and he said

Don’t worry I shall catch the offender

And bury them under the shed.
